Whitewalls! The haircut with nothing but stubble on the sides. While going thru Munitions training at Lowery AFB, I was assigned to the 3440th Squadron … the baddest, toughest training squadron on the base. Both Drill Instructors had been busted down from higher grades. When we went to the base barber for a haircut, we just said, “40th” and they knew what to do. It was a great time there, we felt better than others because of the attitude. It’s all good and don’t mean nothing.

I remember slicking my long hair back with “dippity do” and cutting out 1/2″ whitewalls. The inspectors passed me with flying colors. They should have seen me off duty.
Dippity Do!!!!!! Remember when it melted all over Whale’s face during an inspection? The first shirt took him to the barbershop immediately … hahah. The green stuff was streaking down his face from under his hat.
