This is meant as more of a metaphor than an actual situation. Our poor GIs don’t have much chance these days for a nice, long accompanied tour with their families. With all the rotations back and forth “down range” (Iraq and Afghanistan), the nice 2-3 year tour with your family in Hawaii is a thing of the past. Let’s hope we can get these situations cleared up real quick before the next hot spot develops.
