I’m sure something like this would never happen in the military. As far as I’m concerned, I’d rather the big staples, it makes the scar look worse than it is!

If I remember right there was a scene like that in the film M*A*S*H where they ask if the soldier was an officer or an enlisted man, then they decided to make the stitches big since they found out he was enlisted.
